從表1可以看出，各類聚氨酯密封膠的性能各有優劣。想要用一種聚氨酯密封膠制作完美的中空玻璃，幾乎不可能。在這種情況下，雙道密封工藝在上世紀70年代被采用，同時，聚氨酯密封膠的使用使得中空玻璃的生產從手工制作轉為自動化生產成為可能。聚氨酯密封膠加二道膠的組合方式成為建筑用中空玻璃近乎完美的密封方案。
現行JC/T 914-2014《中空玻璃用聚氨酯密封膠》，結合生產使用情況及中空玻璃制品性能要求，對產品的密度、針人度、剪切強度、水汽透過率和熱失重做出要求。
(1)密度，表征產品的穩定性。
(2)針人度，表征產品的熱熔性能和流變性能。
(3)剪切強度，表征產品與基材的粘接強度。
(4)水汽透過率，表征產品的氣密性能，是保證中空玻璃產品質量和壽命的重要技術指標之.。
