粘接寬度是玻璃面板與框架粘接丁基防水嵌縫膠的寬度，風荷載作用于面板通過周邊粘接丁基防水嵌縫膠傳遞到金屬框架，要有足夠的粘接寬度(Cs)保證丁基防水嵌縫膠的安全應力水平。丁基防水嵌縫膠的強度設計值在粘接設計中都采相同強度設計值(與丁基防水嵌縫膠模量無為，粘接寬度按下式計算:
—在風荷載作用下:
CS wa/2000f,
—在風荷載和水平地震作用下:
Cs (w+O.SqE)a/2000f,
—在玻璃永久荷載作用下:
CS qab/( a+b) 2000fz
—水平倒掛的隱框、半隱框玻璃和鋁框之間:
GS wa12000f,+qa/2000f2式中:
C一丁基防水嵌縫膠的粘接寬度(mm);
—作用在計算單元上的風荷載設計值(kN/m2 );
a,b—矩形玻璃板的短邊和長邊長度(mm);
f,—丁基防水嵌縫膠在風荷載或地震作用下的強度設計值，取0.2N/mm2;
f2—丁基防水嵌縫膠在永久荷載作用下的強度設計值，取0.01 N/mmz ;
q一作用在計算單元上的地震作用設計值(kN/m2 );
q一幕墻玻璃單位面積重力荷載設計值(kN/m2)。
粘接厚度是指丁基防水嵌縫膠粘結玻璃和框架之間的粘層厚度，是丁基防水嵌縫膠粘接拉伸位移方向的丁基防水嵌縫膠尺寸。粘接厚度取決于設計荷載和結構型式，主要是水平荷載和其他形式的副荷載引起的位移，包括設計風荷載、結構分割和玻璃尺寸、金屬框架與玻璃之間熱位移、地震位移等。在位移量( us)給定條件下，選擇丁基防水嵌縫膠粘接厚度(is)或選擇丁基防水嵌縫膠的模量(s值)按下式計算:
